1978 volkwagen EFI return to gas tank

Im new to Aircooled and I have a 78, bus that was stock EFI. But the owner before me switched to weber IDF. I was thinking of putting a holly sniper on it and was wondering if the stock EFI had a OEM fuel return to the gas tank? I don't want to take the tank out and have one welded in just to put the holly on.
