Glad to see racers and fans promoting the T-3 as a race car. I have personally started a project, but have had a temporary set back. Uncle Sam saw fit to send me to Afghanistan for several months. Hoping I can roll my ride out in late 2011. Just looking to have fun either running 10.90 index or Quick 16 classes at the races. My pocket book is not deep enough for ProMod, maybe some day.

I return late Oct 2010 and I'll post a few of my project pictures then, until then I'll just envy everyone else right now.

Well Agent O, welcome to the Ultimate Aircooled web site. There are a few of you Type III, types here. The cool thing about it is, we are all VW people, so we all fit in nicely on UAC. I am looking forward to your pics. Please be careful over there and get back safely.

Glad to have you, welcome to the UAC!!

And better yet thank you for your service to our country and protection of our freedom!!

Keep us informed of your car and schedule when your coming home.

Spread the word about UAC over there if you find any VW people

Thanks Brian - Thanks Duncan.

Brian, I see you have pics in your portfolio from Baylands back in '86 and maybe '87. I had a sedan I ran back then with a hot street motor. I ran it in Baylands when Dave Kawell ran his chopped squareback "Blackie" against Chris Klingaman and spun it 180 and still beat Klingaman going backwards. Any chance you were there for that race?

It's been more than 22 years since I was on the 1/4 mile and looking forward to it again. Just wanting to have some fun and meet the great people that I had met so many years ago.

Thanks for the wishes. I'll be dodging bullets and rockets for four more months here and trying to follow the events stateside from a laptop. You can bet the car has a military theme to it thus "Agent Orange" is its code name. No secret there. Like I said just wanting to have some fun with the whole thing

Enjoy! I'll chime in when I can

Here's a artwork of my new toy. Yes its a "real" notchback with no roof :'( The original owner had a tree fall on the roof during a storm, so he cut the roof off and finished all the metal work to build a show car but never finish it. I've already talked to Ric (Big Wig Race Cars) about doing to all the alum work and etc... Taking the type 3 suspension off the pan and putting a type 1 swingaxle backhalf with a raised transmission and a type 1 2" narrowed balljoint beam in the frt 8) I'll start a topic when I get it home in a few weeks

Don't hate me for the roof being cut off I just saved another one from the junk yard :grinwink:
