Very nice looking car.
Welcome Jrice to the Ultimate Aircooled, the best ACVW web site.

Rich,

Thanks! Glad to be invited to such a great site!

Jeff
Just so any of the guys know in the Cal-Look challenge, if there is any help any of you may need to let me know and I will be glad to help you out. I heard the gentleman that owns the orange oval was new to high hp motors and might need a hand. I will be glad to help in any way, I can't compete right now but I can offer some help!

That's very cool Jason!
I will see Blake Friday night to do some tweaking on the car. He has been a regular in NASA and has also been out a few Wednesday nights too. He is getting more comfortable in the seat and is dedicated to the CLC.
He literally found that car with a tree growing through it. Blake spent countless hours replacing quarter panels, heater channels, and repairing pillars in the restoration. He did all the work himself.
He has asked me to take some shake down passes in the car. I was honored and flattered but I just don't feel comfortable putting a car like that to the test. It can't be replaced.
Yeah I heard he might need a little help in the tuning part of things, is he new to high hp vws? I'm always available!
Blake has been into VW's for a number of years, mostly the off-road/sand scene.
He has a number of desert sand rails. He was part of a regular group that did the Glamis, Dumont Dunes, Sand Mountain events. He has great stories of the craziness that he has experienced and seen first hand. So no, he's not new to performance VW's.
His street performance/drag racing involvement is just another, more recent way for him to enjoy the VW addiction.
love the green (mint) color car.....very cool ;D
wow!!! what a great BOR 62!!!
What a great feeling pushing the 57 after a major trans failure. My hats off to the person that was heckling me form the stands. I really appreciated that.
Now for the good, the car was running tip top Saturday night ran a 13:00 for the first time and taking it easy on things! Had a wonderful time with the Bad Dog Team Saturday night "CLASSY PEOPLE".
Woke up around 5:30am and started detail work on the car, spent around 2hrs making sure all was good! Had a smoke and moved the car behind the stands. Went back over car to make sure she was Looking good! Then people started to roll in asking questions talking about the class, etc. I was feeling good about the day!
The best part of day was hanging out with fellow CLC people Jason, Lee, etc.
Then the call to the track! That wonderful black car and I are first in line to run! Get things lined up at the lights, do the burnout, stage the car, on the limiter at 7000, let things rip at the light, 2 seconds later- bang. Oh well, I still had a great time at BOR 62. Looking forward to '09.

57oval, your car is trully amazing. It is one of those cars that just stands out in your memory forever. I still think there is something wrong with your paint, it keeps changing colors. LOL

So 7000 huh. Nice. But it sounds like both of us need a little less clutch.
Bob Whazs up!
Less clutch is good and bad. What we both need is a freken good Trans!
