Looking to buy a shifter for girlfriends bug. I always have used Berg and love Berg.

But thought since I wouldn't experiment with anything else in my car, why not try a different shifter in hers LOL, I know I know!

I have been looking at the Bug Pack "Magnum" and "Super" shifters
http://www.bugpack.com/content.php?id=398

And the CSP http://classicandspeedparts.com/product_info.php?products_id=276&osCsid=cf9aad7d36fa07ef475ee0f885996802

Can anyone share good or bad about these shifters or suggest another to try?

If your willing to spend $230 on the CSP, you might as well buy the Berg. I have heard good things about the Bugpack one which is the cheapest, but I am partial to my Berg!

Cheap $47.00 "super"

and then a better one

$ not sure? "Magnum" which is pretty nice it looks like?

Need to get a shifter for Danielle's car and was thinking of this one for her ragtop?

At least she isn't taking over your Berg shifter like mine has! I'm surprised she hasn't engraved her name on it!

Give Rick and Dom the business, buy the Bugpack, then give us a product report. I'm guessin' its gonna be a damn good unit for the money...... its GOTTA be better than those damn crappy Scats.

I wouldn't use a SCAT if it was given to me. Had one years ago and HATED it!

Yea I will most likely go with the BugPack, support those that support us! ;D

Wierd, I went from a Berg shifter to a Scat shifter and eventually sold the Berg shifter at a swap meet. The Dragfast is my fav shifter hands down. Takes a little tweaking to get the reverse plate perfect, but once you do, they're very solid. And a fraction of the cost of a Berg.

Curious, Why did you change from the Berg?

Not busting your hump Just don't hear of many people going "FROM" a Berg to another style?

I personally would have no interest in even unbolting and trying another shifter no matter how cool, people said it was.

Did your Berg have issues something? I would just send mine back for repairs even before changing.

I guess I am just set in my ways as the girl would say :-\

Because My Berg just is smooth and error free for me, and always has been. So why change?

Just my two cents and curiosity.

Hey if your happy and I am happy the world is a great place ;D

If you are looking for a great shifter, buy the BP Shift Right Shifter. I have tried them all and I like the BP shifter, I have it in both of my cars. I talked a very well known VW performance builder into buying one, he called me back to let me know what he thought of it. He said if the GB shifter is the best out there then this shifter is about 99% as good or better, he ordered two more and said you can't buy a better shifter for the price. I liked hearing that!

Nothing wrong with the Berg shifter at all. It shifted just as good as my Scat does. But it felt like a brick in my hand. IMHO the Scat feels way better in my hand, much more comfortable.

Plus, I don't go for all that clique BS stuff. Monkey see, monkey do - just doesn't cut it for me. ;)

I get so tired of hearing, "I've got Berg this and Berg that and Berg the other".... That's fine and all, but there are plenty of great parts from many other places....

I'm gonna give the Bugpack shifter a try myself....

I have the badass bugpack shifter

it is amazingly well made and a reasonable price!!!

I have a berg in my other car but they are unreasonably priced just for a name! I want performance! screw a name!

It is rather goofy when people start naming off all of the Berg part that they have like they are the only thing to buy.... I'm with yah Brother....

Nothing against Berg parts, but there are MANY other great parts out there that I would rather use....
