Have been reading with interest for a while and this is my first post.

I am currently building a "steetable" Single cab that I plan to drag race.

Grover is a 1954 Barndoor single cab that I have had for a while now and like all things is getting out of hand

The engine is an Autocraft 101.6 x 88. It runs a moldex crank, Pauter rods, CP pistons, 910 heads with Titanium and Incanel valves etc. The trans is a bus box build by Dave Butler (Dangerous Dave) to be as strong as it can and will run A RLR rev 6 clutch.

It will be super charged with a 2300 Harrop charger, with a water to air inter cooler. A Haltec ecu will control the fuel and ignition and full data acquisition.

The SC will be full bodied and has an ANDRA approved roll cage.

I am not sure how all this will work so I am hoping my questions can be answered here.

Thanks

Phil

Re: Grover

wow thats going to be a wild ride :drivingskid:
Re: Grover

I was all over your bus at Sydney Phil.... I really like how you beefed up the beam and tied it all in.... My brother has similar concerns with his BD23 streeter... The Porsche monoblock brakes on that his bus might be taxing the chassis connections a tad... He has beefed it up under there, but the way you have done it a much sweeter method.... And finally.... Are you planning to bring it out again next month?.... Would love to have a closer look at it if I could.
Re: Grover

I too can't wait to see this SC on the strip ..... should be awesome !!
Re: Grover

Sorry Humpty, but will not be at the drags.

It is currently at Das Resto Haus on the gold coast getting some body work done.

The outside will remain the same but underneath is all new.

Re: Grover

the twin intake throttle bodies look like a Nitro Harley set up. Very cool builf but to do it to a barndoor and not a later SC is hard to take. Keep it up it look like a killer idea nonetheless! :th_DragRacer:
Re: Grover

I understand your concern about it being a barndoor, and when I am finished it still will be a barndoor.

Simply with all the work done to the body, even with all the mods I am leaving it in a far better condition than when I bought it. So I see it as preserving the SC, as most of the new metal has been installed with a fanatical approach to authenticity.

All the stock running gear has been cleaned and stored, if a concourse style restoration was planned in the future.

The throttle bodies are Jenvey and I fabricated the intake with aluminium mandrel bends and laser cut flanges.
