We run the 28" tall 9" Hoosiers Drag Slicks on 7" wide wheels
No tubes,
I highly reccommend you screw them......
Hey Inspector what pressure do you run in your QTP's at the track? Mine don't seem to want to hook up like a slick. THis may be because I put bigger torsion bars in it though.
I just run mine straight on the wheel with no tubes.
We've run QTP's for years. I had the same issue and thought it was the slicks. I would buy new ones every 1 1/2 years regardless. I switched to dual adjustable shocks, 30mm bars and adjustable sway away spring plates. Now the tire plants well and shows wear in the center of the tire. Had these on for 2 years and no problems planting!

Check the wear on the tires. The stance of the car and how it plants is crucial. I see many ppl blame the slicks (including me for a while) when it's not the slick at all!

We run anywhere from 14-17 lbs. No tubes in ours with screws. Never lose pressure or go flat.
thanks for the help another ? do you use the template for the screws like summit sells,or do you space them apart your self?

I don't use a template. I just use a straight edge and go from the centerline of the axle through the center of the lug nut. 5 screws per side.
thanks for the help.when screwing the tire it must have to be aired up but what about length the ones like summit sells doesnt take into the fact rim thickness from rim to rim. also your not going all the way thru the tire right?
