Machining a stock case

1147 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Jeff Newcomb
Ok, I am ready to machine my AS-21 case.

I want to have "the works" done to it.
Punched out for 94mm P&Cs
Clearanced for 86mm crank
Full flowed
10mm case studs

Do I need to weld behind #3?

what else should I have done to it?

On an AS21 the back of #3 should already be beefed up no welding needed.

You "may" have to cut down the lifter bores. If its a big cam and you have a lot of head/spring psi it may be wise to bush em as well. I like the drill/tap for oil galley plugs option too.
