As nice as the JCL shifter is, the mount is a real PITA.

Has anyone here used an other than supplied mounting method for it.

I am leaning towards using the mount very similar to the one that Chad used to mount the MSE shifter in his and Pops Notch.

Yeah, I,m sure I can handle this, I just wanted to hear from someone else that the JCL can be mounted this way.
Here is another photo of some of Ron's handiwork.
A much more simpler method of installation vs the two tubes that Jimmy employs.
And "cleaner" lookin' too.

Did you have any clearance issues with the rear of the shifter assembly and the rod ends?

We had ours mounted similar to yours with the shifter pointing straight up when in neutral. We ended up raising up the rear mounting point so that the shifter was actually angling forward.

Edit - after looking at the picture again, I see yours is angled a bit forward while ours was just about straight up and that created some clearance issues for us.
