On some track surfaces, the tire will chatter and skip if the pressure is too high. I'm in agreement with the others. Lower the pressure. It will allow the tire to wind up rather than hook, skip, hook, skip.
Just for reference, I run 12 psi in the Blue Car. It's much heavier than your car Nick. It does NOT like pressure in excess of 14psi.
Also it might be a good idea to add some tensioning rods to connect the tips of the frame horns to the rear bars. Sorta like a Kafer Cup bar. It'll keep the flex and harmonics in check.
