that top right car looks familiar, but its missing the rain gutters
I am 99% sure that is Ed Hernandez's old Super Street car. It was later painted green and Ron raised and narrowed the pan. A friend of mine bought it and shipped it out here from the West Coast. The car doesn't have any rain gutters. Here it is presently. I did some work on it recently.

A few more Sac Bugo dash plaques in my collection. If anyone has any early Sac Bug O Rama dash plaques not seen in these pictures, that they would like to sell to me or donate to my collection, please let me know, thanks.

First year of PANK dragster prior to getting name, paint and a lot more.
The year is 1978 and the tracks are Mantorp close to Linköping and the wheelie is at Piteå Sweden up at the most northern race track I know of.

PANK equals BROKE
The theme of the car was that we had no more money left. (familar to anyone?)
On this picture you see the subtext, "tji stålar" which means no money in slang.

I you can see the two guys, me and my racing pal Bengt are illustrated as bummers.

Thats really cool dig the toons.
The painter Gösta Gruub sponsored this paint. He said that we would have to give him totally free hands, we said OK.
Gösta is a really nice guy, he has a beautiful and nice wife, good guitar player buuuuut he was (maybe still is) totally sex fixated.
His company was Onaneramera which translates masturbatemore.
His logo.....
Well I hesitated to post it but now if you look at his logo, you get the point.

Also look at one of the toons and the guy with his exaggerated ....well you will find it.

As Steve Stanbridge of California Import Parts found out, friends with tools, beer and a weekend of silliness, this is what you get: "Weird Science"!

Yes guys and gals, that is exactly how it happened and the rest is history. This car was always a fan favorite, no matter where it went. I had the opportunity to own and race it for several years. It was then sold back to the staff at CIP and was recently sold again. It now resides on a farm in the country. Tried to contact the new owner to purchase it back, but could not for reasons that will go untold.

On one of it's last outings at the Seattle Northwest Bug-In in 1996, with long time VW racer Jim Sibley behind the wheel, it won the "Best Appearing Race Car" award! Have many good memories and stories with this car.
