since I posted these pics in '08, absolutely nothing has happened with this car. I finally decided that in order to actually drive it, I was going to have to hire out some of the work needed to complete the project. Last week I took the bug to Bryan at LateNightAirCooled in Chico, CA. Hopefully these guys can breath some life into it. I'll post as progress is made.
No Greg, not the same car. If memory serves, the car in your pic belonged to Ted Lewis, a friend of ours up here. Clint borrowed the car to make a couple NASA races. Clint picked his 61 up about 7 years ago from a fella up near Oroville. He has some pics he took when he first got it--- and if he posted those, you'd really see just how much work, time, and money has been spent on the thing and you people would be even MORE irritated. Its a show car. Its a non-running, ultra-expensive, garage-sitting, dust-collecting, damn-near-finished show car.
Brian, guess how much different that motor looks today? Yup.... you guessed it....... NO DIFFERENT, except for the background. Instead of Newk's garage wall behind the motor, now you'd see Clint's.
