ok. say 2 cars are racing down the drag strip and cross the line. the turnouts is on the right side of the track. the guy in the left lane won the race and is out in front of the guy in the right lane. is it ok for the guy in the left lane to turn into the right lane in front of the other guy or does he need to slow down in the laft lane and let the guy in the right lane catch up and take the turnout first? trying to learn drag racing ettiqet.

I just went through my NHRA and PRA rulebooks. No where is this covered.
As a general rule the car in the lane with the exit always exits first.
If car in the far lane is way ahead, it should continue on to the next exit.

I agree with Greg. Besides being the correct way, it also sounds like the safest way as well. You do not want anyone turning across another driver at the end of a quarter mile run to exit the track.
