I sold my Dells, we're going forced induction. Jerry Spearn has been a great source of info and help for me thus far, I'm sure I'll be leaning on him some more.

This is for my Berg 2007cc motor. I had 40 Dells on it, now it will have a T3/T4, Turbosmart 38mm Wastegate, and a 40DHLA. I am modifying my 1-3/8" header that I had laying in the garage, with a larger collector. I port matched my end castings as well, and they will be recieving a 2" O.D. inlet. The header will remain the same as it was, other than the modified collector. I'll fab an 'up pipe' to go to the turbo. The cold side will be 2" O.D. .188 wall aluminum tube. Here are some starter pics:

Now polished:

Got a bit of time in the man cave, did some fitting, trimming, clocked the turbo for positioning, etc.... this is gonna be a snug fit in there. I'm going to have to modify the alt. stand in the cradle area. It's not a crucial area, but it's encroaching on my power adder space! :grinwink:

That's the "idea". I'm sure I'll have to stand it off at least at the top, if not the bottom as well.

Got a bit of work done between yesterday and today. I'll continue to work on it this week:

I noticed your weld beads near the end of this piece as well as the carb manifold. Is that to help with the clamping where you intend to use silicon couplers?

Yep, gives the clamps somethign to back up against. A smooth shank isn't ideal. There needs to be some form of retention there, weather it be a barb (not possible in this application), or a bib which is simulated here.

A barb isn't really required.....The only barb I have is on the turbo....The boost pipe and manifold I made have smooth tube with no barb....They have never moved off under boost unless I had an intake backfire....I was running 22lbs all year and cranked it up to 25 towards the end of the season...
The T bolt clamps bite!

I had the ability to put them on there, so I did. Theoretically, this is the correct way to do it.
