Did you build the chassis, Paul?
Ron Lummus chassis, Jim..... still in fabrication
Gonna be sweet, Paul! Can't wait to see you back out on the track!

Staying with the same engine combo, or bigger/faster setup? I know ideas change by the time the final product is done, but what are your ideas right now?

Mild steel?

Looks awesome.

It is MS. Could not see paying another $1200 for CM to save a mere 100 lbs. when we will prolly be adding weight to the car anyways.
The MS cage that we had in the first car proved effective.

Will be staying with the EFI Turbo motor we have, will be going to a Bus box. (the Type I suffered a cracked case and bent axle in the tumble), Ladder bar/coil-over rear with Kris Lauffer fabricated axle set-up. Will be going with Chevy pattern wheels this time under Bogart 5 spoke wheels. Staying with Hoosiers (pinned this time around), Geers or RLR disc on all four corners instead of the Jamars, Kirkey seat, stay with G-Force belts as these also proved effective when needed, 2" narrowed Link pin, rack & pinion, Gloss Black powder-coated aluminum floor, all other aluminum natural finish, Silver vein powder-coated chassis, will stay with White exterior color , maybe pearl this time,.... want to use a wing this time but stay with a deck lid as I do not care for the "Box" in the rear,...
This what how I envision the car ending up with.

you mentioned pinned hoosers this time... did they slip? was that a contributor of problems or just been on you to-do list?

I,m thinking this is a possibility, do not know Exactly what caused us to make a left turn but looking at the video, SOMETHING happened on the right rear side.......
Paul were you running tubeless on the rear tires?

Yup!
Another cool build to watch... Very similar car to my own project by the sounds of it, save for the minor detail that mine is a pan car... The question of MS v CrMo is an interesting one.... The weight difference is really only 100lbs?
Come on Paul we need some picture up dates.....

I have relocated my a$$ to The Lone Star State to get the Hell out of the Welfare Regime in the Republic of Kalifornia.
Am working at Fort Polk , La for the time being so the chassis & body (54 Oval) sit in the garage in Kerrville, TX for the time being. First thing I need to do is get started on the front beam.... am very busy with the new job, I gotta get with Kris on the gear ratios for the Bus box so Kevin can get started on that.
I can still probably get the car on the track in about 24 months.......
Welcome to the normal center of the country...LOL.
