I am totally new to forums or any kind of social networking,so faux pas abound!
I decided to improve my 72 Super with type 3 rear drum brakes, since they are bigger, and I needed more efficient stopping power for my 90 horse SCAT. But I now have a problem that I can't find a solution for in any of my manuals.
I bought the wrong MC (Standard Beetle- no space between housing and rubber boot) and I can't return it. Can I install it and compensate for the difference? If not..are the inner workings identical so that I could rebuild my Super MC with the piston assembly of the Standard MC?
I'm hoping the new MC will work if I readjust the piston rod free play. I also plugged the extra front brake port.
