The Rules

These are the only rules...no more, no less.

Any four cylinder, air cooled, rear-engine VW powered vehicle allowed
*

Minimum vehicle weight (with driver) 1700 lbs
*

Must have two front seats
*

Must have functioning headlights & tail lights
*

No Wheelie Bars allowed
*

Proof of Registration and Insurance Required
*

Vehicle must have all required safety equipment for ET/MPH as per NHRA Rules
*

Muffler required on ALL vehicles
*

Vehicles must complete an approximate 20 mile Street Cruise prior to the event (we will be leaving from the host hotel driving to Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday Night)
*

Recommend (but not required) decals and stickers on quarter and rear windows, not on body of vehicle
*

No tow vehicles allowed (Vehicle must drive to the Starting Line and return to the Pits under its own power.)

In hearing of the Unlimited Street East announcement of lack of cars, I have the same question, who’s in for Vegas? There are two cars from the original list that will not be there, my car, due to not having it done & Scott Fetherolf still sorting out electrical gremlins and other commitments.

For some odd reason no will say for sure if they will be there or not, I guess it is some kind of secret or some thing. I as well as Troy will not have an event if we can’t get at least 6 cars to commit to coming, we will not pay over $3000 for the class for less than 6 cars, it’s not far to any of our sponsors which are kind enough to contribute to this class.

This is a thankless job that Troy & I have fun doing, we make nothing for doing it but our time, a lot of time! So I need to know for sure on whose coming or not, if you don’t want to let the other competitors know your coming at least e-mail me and let me know. I need to know for sure you will be there, not a maybe, a defiantly YES I WILL be there to compete. Thanks!

Re: Unlimited Street West: Update 9/22/08

There will be a new starting and ending point for the Unlimited Street West class this year. We will be meeting at 5:00 pm at the host hotel, The Cannery Hotel & Casino, 2121 E. Craig Rd North Las Vegas, NV 89030. We will leave somewhere around 5:30 or 6:00 depending how long it will take to check the cars. We will then drive to The Wagen where the Las Vegas VW Club will be hosting their annual BBQ and Raffle.



This change will give everyone the opportunity to enjoy hanging out with all of our other VW friends, as well as the BBQ & Raffle. George, the owner of The Wagen will have an area set aside for us to park our cars. Thanks George. The address for The Wagen is, 6245 Harrison Dr. Las Vegas, NV 89120-4000 The BBQ starts at 7:00pm.



Things to remember, $50.00 for each car which goes into the purse for the class, this does not include admission to the track. You will have to have your current registration and insurance card that should have the VIN & License plate number on it, also make sure your lights are in working order.
