"PRO GAS COMIN' OFF THA HILL!!!!" Man I remember that.
Thanks Stephen, it brought back some fond memories, one of the few videos of my old ghia when "T HOFF" in Raleigh was my sponswer . Remembering how big the fields were back then , 30 Pro Gas cars and at least that many Super Stocks . Makes you wonder where all those cars are now.
Some are still around. A bunch are STILL racing those very same cars today.

Just browsing through you see---

Gary Cooper- VA. Yellow bug- Still owns it, rarely comes out.

Red super beetle, tube chassis car- Was owned by Christy Sellers. Now Trent Brown has it and running it

Dave Webster?-- silver ghia with a small front air dam. Gene Collier owned and sometimes ran as a pro stocker

Doug Adams-- white 68 with blacked out head lights. Not sure if doug owned the car at this time but this car is currently ran out of PA by Jerry Spear

The shortened yellow bug. Owned by Mark Miller in NC(?) and now has an automatic in it. Mark has not been out in a few years

Mel Shealy-- his car is in the video, blue bug with silver. No idea if Mel owned the car in 1990 but it is STILL winning championships today

Teal bug-- now the No Glass Act car and owned by Bruce Rideway, another championship car today still

Red bug with black scallops on the back half-- Still being raced. I believe it showed up at the SEVWA Tennessee race last year. Randy Eanes driving in video

Yellow pick up with turbo engine called "high steppen" is sitting somewhere. Was for sale on thesamba 2 years ago

Primer bug being driven that day by Michael Hall. Mike just bought a drag bug and is back in it

Henry Williams...still has the same car being raced today

Clarence Chester and the bug "Strip Teaser" later became the Mega Bug and painted red, is now for sale on thesamba with a ugly re-paint.

Yellow/Red ghia that day being driven by James Ingram was originally the Scotty McManus owned record holder car, was passed along and eventually painted white after being bought by Jerry Edwards in Michigan. Jerry sold the car a few years ago under the name "Jerrys Hemi" and the car resides in Hawaii now

Pink/yellow/blue car has wound up as Noel Latours car in Florida with a repaint and is his bracket racer now that Noel also has a pro mod bug.

Warren Skaggs--oval window car he still owns and looks exactly the same. Sitting in his shop and is not run

Rail dune buggy with some body work---George Frizzy. No idea where the car is but George is running a Top Dragster

All I can seem to gather from the video. But when it comes down to it.....we need NEW race cars and NEW racers to get involved

LMAO.... best post of the day.....
Sid Poliums type 3 auto wagon rotted and they built a notchback(?) that was chopped top and has not been run in a few years. Sid is suffering from some not so good of health I believe.

Wendall Denny in the black time keeper crashed and they built a new car in the mid 90s. The current version is run a few times a year now.

The red mega bug driven by Todd howard is the old Hum Bug from the Cornatzer family, later bought by the Westmorelands and then sold back to the original family
I believe HIGH STEPPIN went to Aussie and has a good home. Man you did good on the update, LOL.
No idea it went over there. Haven't seen any pics of it since

And not a bad up date since I was 4 years old and 12 hours away from the race! This hobby has sucked me in officially
oh snap... it went over seas?

Guys, you have NO IDEA!!!!!! This guys has not even started the car since he bought it off the guy that lost the door. Heard he traded some kind of V8 car or something for it. They have also cobbled up the cage to get that seat in it. Guy has no idea if it even runs.

Yep, the Timekeeper did crash in the early to mid 90's in your backyard at ATCO but it was driven by Mr Larry Westmoreland.
And it was always one of the best looking race cars on this coast IMHO.
I've heard rumors that the Tarheel Shaker is sitting in a garage in western NC somewhere.
I believe there were 2 Tarheel Shakers. One was for sale on the samba about a year ago. The story I heard was that the owner was an older fella and was in a nursing home?

Another dragster was for sale approx 3 years ago and that car was one of Bill Rathbunns first. The owner called a guy up here about some engine work.

Yeah I remember the sedan. It was for sale at a good price too.
Dune Buggy Dale.... or show we now call him... Sedan Dale...LOL... called me this morning and said High Steppin' is still in the Roanoke area. Who knows... i know i haven't seen it for a few years.
Talked to Thomas Sloan who knows the guy who had it and he said he's positive it went over seas. The guy sold the truck and got a mustang.
Dale called you at what, 10am?? Probably had his hand in the cooler already.
