If you want to go turbo or use any power adder, it's very important that all of your components will handle the total amount of HP / TQ you intend to have the new combination produce. If you only change the parts that will allow you to produce the HP (i.e. change cam & port heads) but neglect the rest (i.e. rod bolts, push rods, head studs) you will most likely find the weak points in your engine at a most inappropriate time.
