Hey can anyone tell me what backspace i will need on my type 3 notchback.
The tube chassis is a type 3 from lummus and is type1 swing axle 5" narrow short spline rear.
I will be using a 8" cms rim with a 8.5" MT slick.
any help would be very appreciated.
Rich.

The original poster is running a lummus chassis, as I am. So if Ron was 1/2 as helpful as he has been with me I am sure he will help Rich as well

Also, with Rons ladder bars the shock mounts inside the ladder bar, but do agree the disc/hub set up does alter what wheel backspace you can get away with

The one I worked on wasn't like that, did he give you the sfi specs for the floor bars then? I see elsewhere you were asking for help with them, seems strange to be asking if he is so helpful.

Didn't realise you had finished it and were running it, how quick have you gone? and pics or videos, always good to see cars from over there racing:)

Can I assume you have a problem with Ron then?
I asked on various forums about SFI specs as I know guys in Europe have done what I was looking to do, second opinion and all that. I stand by what I said, Ron has been extremely helpful. It got to the point if he didn't reply to my email within the hour I was disappointed, very handy when in the workshop and you need an answer:)

Car is nowhere near finished, work, family and another project or two have slowed progress.

Btw, google Ron lummus chassis to see various images of how the shocks mount to his ladder bars

Did he help you and tell you what to do or not? you seem to avoided the question.
.
when you said you were "running a lummus chassis" I thought you meant running as in racing, not sure what you did mean now?, maybe something is lost in the translation .

Looks like you are good at avoiding the question as well, the first line of my previous reply!

Ron did provide a reply yes. My chassis is rolling, so felt more than able to answer the question about wheel back space
